Mission of the Hempstead High School Library
The school library leads students to locate, evaluate and use information from a variety of formats while meeting the diverse needs of student learning, promoting life-long learning and a love of reading.  It will support the curricular and personal needs of students and staff by giving them access to quality resources and providing current information.

Policies and Procedures

Circulation​

  • Students may check-out as many books as wanted/needed.   

  • Students may check-out books for three weeks and renew them if there is not a waiting list.

  • Magazines and newspapers may not be checked-out, but enjoyed in the library.

  • Upperclassmen with a free hour may come the library to work on homework, read, relax, etc.
